What I Eat in a Week (Tasty Tuesday)

September 22, 2015

In this week's edition of Tasty Tuesday, I am doing a food haul to show you what a week's worth a food looks like for me.

I have been a vegetarian for a little over 10 years and over the past two years I've really gotten into health and nutrition. I follow a nutrition plan that has really taught me how to feed and fuel my body the right way. Before that I thought that because I was a vegetarian and wasn't eating certain foods that it was okay for me to eat sweets and junk and that as long as there wasn't any meat or fish in what I was eating it was fair game. In having that mentality I made poor diet choices and weighted probably about 25 lbs. more than what I do now. I was also always getting sick because my body lacked the proper vitamins and nutrients it needed to keep me healthy.

After getting sick with Shingles one year I knew it was time to make a change. I needed to switch up everything I was doing and get myself healthy. I learned how, what, and when to eat in order to keep my body working and feeling it's best. I eat about 5 times a day, so meal prep is VERY important for me. Preparation is the key to success!

I do a majority of my food shopping at my local health food store. There are some items that I prefer to get at Shop Rite or Stop & Shop just because the prices are a little better on some of the items such as milk, yogurt and Larabars.

Here's a look at some of the items I bought this weekend.

The health food store I go to has an EXCELLENT salad bar. I love getting their prepared foods because it's less work for me to do in prepping my meals for the week. I just scoop out a serving size for lunch and dinner and I'm good to go.

If you would a more in depth post about what I eat for each meal, let me know in the comments and I will try and do a post that's a little more detailed for you. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
