Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are all having a "Splendid" day!
In this week's edition of #TastyTuesday, I am going to be reviewing a soup cleanse that I did from a company called The Splendid Spoon. After all the candy and junk I ate last week at Halloween, I wanted to get back on track with my healthy eating.
I'm not a huge fan on juice cleanses. They never really seem to keep me full and at about half way through the day, I give up and turn back to solid food. So when I came across this soup cleanse from The Splendid Spoon I got a little excited. They are a vegan based company so all of their soups don't contain any meat, fish, or dairy! As soon as I saw this I thought to myself "I can do this!" lol! I decided to give it a shot.
Here's how it went.
The Splendid Spoon Company is based right in New York City. I love being able to utilize companies that are right in my home state. The soups are made fresh in small batches and are shipped out frozen on Monday and are for the most part, are delivered the next day. I received my cleanse on Tuesday and started it on Wednesday.
Included are a list of instructions as well as a list of what soup to eat in what order.
Breakfast:
It says on the bottle that you can drink the soups either chilled or warmed, I chose to warm mine, I felt it brought out the flavor a little more. This soup was so filling! The consistency was just thick enough and it really kept me feeling full until lunch time. The cleanse instructs you to eat every 2-3 hours.
Lunch:
I was so excited for this soup and it did not disappoint! Put coconut in anything and I will devour it! This soup was so creamy and yummy and with 14g of protein this soup really kept me feeling full for the rest of the afternoon.
Mid-Afternoon Snack:
Pumpkin soup! This soup was such a yummy fall soup with just the right amount of pear to sweeten it up. This was the perfect meal to hold me over until dinner. All of the women that I work with commented on how good this soup smelt. I actually had some left over in the bottle so I had a few of them try it and they loved it!
Dinner:
This was my favorite soup!! It was extremely filling! I want to note I wasn't hungry all day! I looked forward to each soup! They all had such a different and unique taste to them. The variety was fantastic. The lentils and kale filled me up so much that I wound up skipping the Nightcap :)
Nightcap:
Like I said above, I was too full to even attempt to eat this soup. I saved it for the next day and ate it for dinner. :) All of the soups were extremely good and I was so proud of myself for finishing this cleanse.
I would most definitely recommend this soup cleanse! It's a great way to kickstart your body into a healthier eating routine and it's great way to give the vegan thing a try ;) I am looking to do this cleanse again right after Thanksgiving to reset my body after all the food I know I am going to be enjoying that holiday. ;)
I hope you all enjoyed today's post! Thank you for stopping by!
