What's For Dinner?

Friday, July 29

Happy Friday everyone!!

I have a yummy post for you today! As many of you already know, I am a vegetarian/ vegan and I LOVE food! I probably spend half my paycheck at the grocery store and the other at Sephora haha! Recently I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and came across a company called Veestro.
The food looked super yummy so I clicked on the link to their website and to my surprise I found out that they were an all vegan company!
Every meal is plant based and is made from organic, preservative free foods and what's even more exciting is that ALL of the meals are pre-made!! No chopping, mixing or preparing involved! Just heat and serve and you're good to go.
I knew I had to try it out and after reading multiple positive reviews on the meals I decided to place an order. I chose the Starter Pack which consists of 12 meals which is enough for 4 days. Here's a sample of what the menu consisted of:

Sample Menu:

Red Curry with Tofu and Veggies
Savory Croquettes with Veggie Hash
Country Fried Chick’n
Enchilada Casserole
Thai Chick’n Stew
Three Layer Scramble
Oatmeal Breakfast Pie
Golden Chickpea Stew
Soba Noodles with Peanut Sauce
Veggie Burger Patty
Tomato Lentil Soup
Veggie Empanadas
Johnny Appleseed Juice

For me the price of the Starter Pack is extremely reasonable ($99). On average I spend about $80-$100/ week on food for myself and I have to prepare my meals on top of that. Plus all of the meals from Veestro come frozen so I can use and save those meals to last longer then a week if I'm only replacing my lunch and dinner.

Now to the yummy part! Here's a peek at some of my FAVORITE meals that I received in my Starter Pack, These were so hard to pick because they were all AMAZING!!

Johnny Appleseed Juice: I am very picky about my juices and this was was a winner! There was a perfect balance or earthy and sweet.

Oatmeal Breakfast Pie: This dish was so hearty! I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast so I was really excited about this meal. It was like having dessert for breakfast! Who doesn't want that!?

Veggie Empanadas: I can't believe the serving size you get in each meal! I double checked the package to make sure I was supposed to eat all three haha! I loved these babies! Again very filling and super tasty!

Country Fried Chick'n: This was by far my absolute FAVORITE meal! I can't even begin to explain how super duper yummy and satisfying this dish was! I will definitely be ordering this again! Everything from the mashed potatoes to the gravy and especially the chick'n was out of this world!!

Three Layer Scramble: Okay now I know that this doesn't look visually appealing by it was so tasty! This was another one of my favorites! It tasted like a taco haha! I will definitely be ordering this breakfast dish again.

Red Curry with Tofu & Veggies: My mouth is watering just thinking about this meal! I love In dian food and this dish tasted like it came from a restaurant! The rice was super filling and the curry gave the tofu just the right amount of flavor and kick!

Enchilada Casserole: These dishes took me around the world with flavors! This was a Mexican delight! I throughly enjoyed this dish! I loved the texture and the flavor and and it was super filling! I will be ordering this meal again!

I thoroughly enjoyed everything that I received from Veestro. I cannot wait to place my next order and try out all of the other dishes they have to offer! Nothing was super salty and certainly nothing lacked flavor. I hope that this will give any of you that extra boost you may need to try out a plant based meal/ vegan meal. I love getting to share yummy and healthy vegan food with all of my viewers. Hope I didn't make you all too hungry ;)

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have an amazing weekend!

July Glossybox Reveal & Review #MirrorMirrorMonday

Monday, July 25

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend! Today I am bringing to you my July Glossybox. This is going to be my last Glossybox, I decided to cancel my subscription for now, not because I don't like it, it's just I would rather spend the $21/ month on other beauty products. I may resume it in the future but for now I am going to be taking a break from it. Now, let's get started on what I got in this month's box.

I actually really liked the product selection this month. I received a nice variety of things and I was excited to give them a try. Plus I always reuse the empty Glossybox themselves as a storage container in my dresser drawers ;).

Fango Essenziali: Purify Treatment Sheet Mask: I LOVE sheet masks! This mask is no acceptation! It contains lavender oil and arnica to help calm and soothe the skin as well as control oil and tighten pores. A little trick I like to do with sheet masks is I store them in the refrigerator so they are super cooling when I put it on. Sheet masks are also really inexpensive so it's like getting a spa treatment without spending a lot of money.

GLOV: Glov Quick Treat- I've never seen anything like this, I  thought that this was pretty cool! Glov is an innovative microfiber cloth that fits right onto your finger and all you have to do is apply water to it and it removes your makeup. Plus it's reusable! Just wash it with a little soap and let it dry.

Eyeko: Fat Stick in Satin- This eyeshadow stick is very convenient. I just swipe a few coats over my eyelids I'm ready to go! I got this pretty purple grey color that really makes my blue eyes pop. It's the perfect makeup for day or night.

SINFULCOLORS: Kylie Jenner Trend Matters Satin Collection (Kommando)- I was no excited when I saw the color of this nail polish! It's like the perfect nudey pink color with just a hint of silver sparkle. Plus it has gel technology so it makes it a little more wearable and won't chip off as easily.

Leighton Denny Expert Nails: Miracle Mist- To aide in the manicure process is this quick drying mist. Anything that helps my nails dry quicker is a favorite of mine. I will definitely put this product to good use.

Tree Hut Bare: Moisturizing Shave Oil- This shave oil smells SO good! As soon as I got it wanted to jump in the shower and shave my legs haha! This shave oil is said to prevent razor bumps, ingrown hairs and skin irritation that can be caused by shaving. A little bit goes a long way too! My legs were left feeling a looking silky smooth!

I hope you all enjoyed today's post. I was very pleased with all of the products that I got in my July Glossybox and will definitely be putting these items to good use.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

'ENLITE'n Me #MirrorMirrorMonday

Monday, July 18

Happy Monday everyone!

Have I got something exciting for you!

Many of you may have seen in last Monday's post that I mentioned the brand Enlite Beauty in my CVS haul. I had heard about this brand a few months ago and have had my eye out at CVS for it ever since. I knew once I found it I would have to purchase a few items and put them to the test. Today I will be giving you my review and thoughts on the products I purchased from this line.

Here we go....

CVS has really stepped up their game in the skincare world and I couldn't be more excited! Like I always say, just because something is expensive doesn't mean it's going to work. There are numerous drugstore products that work better than many high end products from Sephora and department stores. I am in love with the Enlite packaging as well. It's simple, sleek and gets your attention with the pretty colors and metallic finish.

How cute are these products!? I am obsessed with the look of them! These are the types of bottles you want to display on your vanity! I don't know about you, but it makes me even more excited to use the product when the packaging is pretty haha! But what's more important is what's inside! :)

Super Face: Heightened Awareness- Oh this product smells so good! This facial mist can be used anytime throughout the day to refresh your skin when you need a little pick me up. It contains peppermint oil and coconut water to hydrate the skin and give you a quick pick-me-up. Revitalize and energize with one simple toning mist!

It gives your skin an instant glow! Plus it's not sticky or heavy on your face either which to me is super important in a facial mist.

Flawless Body: Body Double- I love a good BB cream for my face so why should my body be any different? Now you can give your body some BB love with this lightweight cream. It contains hyaluronic acid, shea butter and caffeine to boost, nourish and stimulate your skin.

I love the subtle glow it gives to my skin as well without being shimmery or glittery. It smells yummy too, kind of like coconut!

Super Face: Secret Service- This is the ultimate lip serum! It contains sweet almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E to treat, hydrate, nourish, soothe and protect your precious lips.

I love the bottle as well. It looks like a needle that's going to plump your lips. The applicator tip gently glides the product onto your lips leaving a nice even layer of product.

I love the formulation as well. It's not sticky or greasy at all! It just leaves your lips with a full gorgeous sheen.

Super Face: Skin Cardio- This instant lifting and tightening facial gel is my FAVORITE product from this line up! After putting this on, I stared at the mirror in awe of my skin! you can actually feel the serum firming up the skin! I apply this in the morning, let it sit two minutes to set and work it;s magic and then I go about my normal routine. My makeup slides on flawlessly and my skin looks airbrushed. I would highly recommend trying out this serum! This is my kind of cardio haha!

Super Face: Glow for It- This exfoliating glow mask contains Spanish Clay, Green Tea and Volcanic Ash Extract which extracts impurities, calms and detoxifies the skin. This mask is INCREDIBLE! When I first applied it, the tingly sensation was a little strong but after a few minutes it subsided and began to set. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and once it's all dry, use warm water to gently massage it off the skin. It contains micro-fine pumice powder that gently removes dead skin cells and dirt leaving your face SUPER smooth! It also left this really cool feeling on my skin. My face felt so clean after using this mask and left behind such a beautiful glow. I would recommend using this mask once a week for an instant refresher.

These aren't all of the products from the Enlite Beauty line. There are so many more other items that I would love to try out and put to the test. So far I give this line a BIG two thumbs up!!

I hope you all enjoyed today's post! Let me know what products you have tried out from this line and what some of your favorites are. Happy shopping!

New Skincare Haul #MirrorMirrorMonday

Monday, July 11

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend!
Today I am bringing you a Skincare Haul! I made a trip to CVS on Saturday and it was a success! I have been hearing a lot about Enlite Beauty and I finally got my hands on some of the products along with some other goodies. Now I've only used these products once so I will just be giving you my first impressions on these items. After I've used them for a few weeks, I will check back in with you all and let you know what I think.

CVS has really stepped up their skincare game!! I am super impressed by the lines and variety of products that they now have available. I am loving the fact that I can go to my local CVS and pick up products that are not only as good, if not better than some of the products I can get at Sephora. The prices are really affordable as well and at CVS you can use coupons! I saved about $30 on this haul with all the coupons I had for this haul.

Right off the bat, I am in love with the packaging of the Enlite Products. They are very clean looking and I love the shape of the bottles. The Neutrogena bottle is very sleek too! It's a metal bottle with a pump top making it look like a high end product. How professional does the MD Complete bottle look? This looks like something you would get at a dermatologists office! Another great thing is that the MD Complete and Enlite Beauty are Cruelty Free!! They contain NO parabens, sulfates and they DO NOT test on animals :) :) :)

Now onto my first impressions.....

MD Complete Restoring Cleanser ($16.99)- This ahas become my new PM cleanser. After I used my cleaning oil, I washed my face with this cleanser. It's a non foaming wash that gently removes makeup and smoothes & hydrates skin. I really liked this cleanser! I love the way my face felt after washing with it. It contains green tea, aloe vera & chamomile and fatty acids that work together to strengthen the skins barrier, boost hydration and calm the skin. This wash feels super luxurious and for the price you can't beat it!

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer ($20.99)-  I am a HUGE retinol fan! I have been using retinol for the past three years and haven't really found one that I liked. I have heard A LOT of great things about this retinol and have been itching to give it a go. I had to stop using the Sunday Riley Luna Oil because it was breaking me out :(. This is a retinol moisturizer so it won't dry my skin out. Retinol helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, evens out skin tone and smoothes out skin texture. This product smells really nice too which is an added bonus. I will keep you updated on my results.

Enlite Super Face Liquid Assets ($19.99)- I don't know about you but I LOVE peel off face masks! There's an added fun factor in peeling the dried mask off your face haha! This mask could be an affordable dupe to the GlamGlow Gravity Mud mask! It looks similar to it but for those of you that don't like the smell of the GlamGlow one this would be a great buy. It contains Colloidal Platinum and Malachite Extract that helps to improve skins luminosity and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

I look like the Tin Man! I really liked this mask! My skin felt so good after I removed it and even when I woke up the next day my skin looked really good. I did a double take when I looked at my chin and cheeks haha! I would defiantly recommend giving this mask a whirl!

Enlite Flawless Body Water Fall ($18.99)- When I saw this product it really spiked my interest. I don't know about you but after a long day at work and walking around in the hot summer weather, my ankles tend to get a little swollen. This is an overnight water reducing lotion that can be applied to your stomach, arms, and ankles so help reduce your body's water retention. I only used it once but it does seem to help, I will let you know after using it a bit more if it holds up to what it says it does.

Enlite Super Face Foam Away ($12.99)- This foaming cleanser is so refreshing! It smells just like cucumbers! I have been using this as my AM cleanser. It is the perfect way to wake up your skin in the morning. It doesn't leave behind any sticky or heavy residue just super clean skin.

I hope you all enjoyed today's blog! Let me know if you have tried any of these products! I can't wait to try out some more products from these lines. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest pf your week!

My Current Makeup Routine...

Friday, July 8

Happy Friday everyone!

It has been quite a while since I last blogged about my makeup routine, so I figured I would update you all on the current products that I have been using. I try to keep my routine pretty simple. I'm not an expert but I know what I like and I know what works best for me and my features.

To start I would like to say that I believe that the basis to a good makeup routine is a good skincare routine. If you don't take care of your skin, the canvas that you are applying your makeup to isn't going to look the best that I can. I did a full skincare routine the other day on my blog. Here is the link if you want to check it out. :)

Now let's get on with my makeup routine......

Step 1: Primer- This step is actually part of my skincare routine. I use the Tatcha Pore Perfecting SPF that also doubles as my primer. Now that I have a smooth even canvas it's time to apply foundation.

Step 2: Foundation- Depending on the day, I will either use a BB Cream or a more full coverage foundation. During the Summer I tend to stick to a BB Cream because it is lighter in coverage and it provides the SPF coverage I want. On special occasions and days where I really want my makeup to last I will you this foundation from Makeup For Ever.

Step 3: Concealer- Once I've applied my foundation I will go in an conceal my under eye area and cover any blemishes I have with this concealer from Maybelline. It's lightweight but still gives me the coverage that I want. The trick is to pick a concealer that is a little lighter than your foundation this way it'll help to brighten up your under eyes.

Step 4: Powder- I love using translucent powders to set my foundation and concealer. I use the
Bye Bye Pores to set my entire face and I "bake" my under eyes with this loose powder. Baking is a technique where you pack on loose translucent powder under your eyes and the heat from your skin literally "cooks" the powder and helps to smooth out the appearance of the skin and makes your makeup last longer. By using a translucent powder it doesn't effect the color of my foundation and concealer.

Step 5: Brows- Since my hair is on the lighter side, it is a must for me to fill in my eyebrows. I love this NYX pencil! It's super inexpensive and gets the job done! Plus filling in and shaping your brows helps to frame your face. If you don't already do your brows I would recommend you giving it a shot, you won't believe the difference it makes.

Step 6: Contour- This is a little extra step that I like to do with my makeup. It's not necessary but I like the way it makes my face look. I am a huge fan of the Hoola Bronzer! I use it to contour my nose and shade the outer edges of my face to give it a little dimension so my face doesn't look flat.

Step 7: Blush & Highlight- This is my FAVORITE step!!! Basically because I get to use Jaclyn Hill's Champagne Glow Palette. I literally smile putting this on (such a Makeup Geek ;)). I swipe a little blusher on my cheeks and then highlight the high points of my face (bridge of my nose, top of my cheek bones, cupids bow and brow bones).

Step 8: Mascara- I am all about the lashes! If I could only pick one makeup item that I couldn't live without, it you be mascara! My lashes are SO light so it is a must for me to apply mascara. The longer the better! I want my lashes to fan you every time I blink haha!! I am obsessed with the Tarteist Lash Paint! I get a lot on compliments on my lashes because of it.

Step 9: Set- Last but not least you must lock everything down with a setting spray! If you want your makeup to last I definitely recommend a setting spray. I personally love this one from Wet n Wild. It's only $4 and it works so well! A couple quick spritzes and your makeup will stay all day!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! Let me know what products are part of your everyday makeup routine and the items your can't live without.

Enjoy your weekend!
